Ladies, we’ll be making caps for preemie babies or chemo patients. Just bring some soft yarn and your knitting needles or crochet hook. If you don’t know how, the Twisted Sisters will be happy to teach you. Call Carolyn Martin, Holly Singhas, or Jena Cote with your questions.
What is Church Web Site Awareness Week
Coming up next week is “Church Web Site Awareness Week; or to put it another way; “Make mywcoc.org your Home Page for a week (or more if you want to). See the additional article for details on how to make the church web site your homepage on four of the major web browsers.
Yes folks the new church web site is up, running and fully functional. And in more ways than one is more than a cosmetic upgrade. This new site offers a more dynamic and interactive service for the entire church family, local community and all to help us lift up the glory of God.
It’s time to make a joyful noise to the Lord!
Scott Lippiatt will be here at the Church on April 23- 24 for a wonderful weekend of singing. Join us Saturday afternoon for some time to focus on helpful ways to improve our worship through song, and for a congregational sing on Saturday night too.
All are invited.
We are still making Beanies for Babies – there is a need at local area hospitals. Please bring your knit or crocheted hats and give them to Carolyn Martin or leave them at the church office.
If you would like to learn how to make the preemie hats and contribute to this wonderful and heartwarming ministry, see Carolyn.
Our next VBS Planning meeting will be April 16th at 9 a.m. for more practical planning as we consider how to share the story of “David: A man after God’s own Heart” with our children.
There is a place for everyone to help! It’s gonna be GOOD! If you were not able to make last month’s meeting, see Becca for more details.
Yes folks it’s here again – daylight savings start at 2:00 am this Sunday March 13th, and ends at 2:00 am Sunday November 6th. So don’t forget to change your clocks one hour forward on Saturday night: if you do forget, you might be late for Church.
Singing Weekend with Training
Love singing and looking to improve a little perhaps? Well then here’s some terrific news for you. There is a planned singing/training weekend scheduled for April 23-24 at Warrenton Church of Christ.
For this event, we are blessed to be joined by Scott Lippiatt from the Glen Rock Church of Christ in PA. Scott will help us improve our singing and teach us a new song or two.
In a beautifully constructed and educational sermon this week, Bob Kolodner looks at the fantastically complex logistics that God faced when sending the Messiah to earth. Bob includes some very informative context from Genesis and numerous other books of the Old Testament to build an original narrative to explain these events. This is indeed another truly wonderful sermon by our equally wonderful minister Bob. If you missed it this week, check out the sermon below or go to YouTube. If you saw it live this week, watch it again – you’ll get even more out of it the second time through.
Fran Powell would like to remind us that February is Linen Drive Month for the Homeless shelter– and this year we need towels!
Apparently the towels they have are becoming worn and threadbare and they could really use some new ones.
So, please bring bath towels, wash cloths, and hand towels to help us build a pyramid of towels for the shelter families!
