In this sermon, Bob talks about the two events that launched Jesus’ ministry. The hour glass has been turned, yet His time has not yet come. Unfortunately there’s no video of this week’s sermon. However you can still download and read Bob’s sermon notes using the large, green, Recent Sermon Notes download button to the right of this article.
This week also featured a brief double-act when Chris Abernethy joins Bob on stage, working together when the sermon reaches the part where Jesus reads from the scroll of the prophet Isaiah.
These next photos capture the events of this week’s sermon.
17 The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
20 Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him,
21 and he began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
Thanks to Crystal for the photos. In the absence of the video, it was great to have them for context in this post. So folks, download and read this week’s sermon notes to see where Bob took us with his thoughts. – You’ll be glad you did – I promise.
