This singing weekend has been a resounding success and our honored guest Scott Lippiatt (left) has been an inspiration to us all. Joining our church from the Glen Rock Church of Christ in Pensilvania, Scott brings with him his wife Jill, and their three children – not to mention a lifetime of experience in worship and song leading in the a-capella tradition.
The day started out with Scott working with our current, past and possible future song leaders to talk about some of the lessons he had learned from experience, and from his time working with the Worship Leader Institute, where he was accepted and has spent numerous periods of time studying and deepening his skills in the craft of worship and song leading.
In the second session today, Scott worked with our Praise Team to introduce us to some new songs, polish some current songs and give us some wonderful insight into the technical aspects of shape notes and how these can help us in singing new songs and learning new melodies.
The day concluded with a Saturday worship session in the fellowship hall (below), where he was joined by other members of the congregation and we all made a joyous sound in praise to the lord.
This really has been a special event for the Church and we deeply appreciate Scott’s time and expertise in this important area of worship. He has bought us new songs to sing and new insight into the art of worship in song. He has taught us new things and introduced us to new tools that will help improve our songs of praise today and well into the future. Thank you Scott and God bless you and your family. We have been blessed to have you with us and hope you will visit us again every soon.
