A wonderful Christmas celebration was experienced by families of the Warrenton Church of Christ on the eve of Christmas Eve.
Singing Christmas carols, partaking of savory snacks and constructing creative works of art out of paper cartons, icing, and candy of all varieties. Fathers, mothers, children and friends participated in an age old Christmas tradition of making a gingerbread house.
Special thanks to the event planners Amie Hoagland and Kelly Turner and their families, for making this Christmas holiday one to remember.
A big thank you to all the ladies that participated in the service project for the pregnancy crisis center on Wednesday, November 7th. Not only did we enjoy fellowship together, we produced some stylish and useful burp cloths and matching blankets for mothers in need.
Equipped with 5 sewing machines, rulers, cutting wheels, scissors, cutting mats, cloth diapers, printed fabric and dark chocolate, 11 ladies produced around 22 sets of blankets and matching burp cloths.
A big thank you to Cathy Ryon, who spearheaded the project (and brought the chocolate), and gave useful instructions to everyone on the creative process of turning flannel fabric into very useful baby items.
Thanks to all the ladies that participated in this benevolent effort – Stephanie, Jena, Cathy, Crystal, Carol Beth, and Donna who did the cutting, measuring and preparing the fabrics to be stitched. Manning the sewing machines were Carol, Janet, Holly, Cathy and Nancy who made quick work stitching the fabrics together. Due to time constraints, Carol and Cathy ended up finishing up this great work at home. Way to go ladies!!
Attention all young professionals, college students, and other interested folks. There is a “Breakfast & Bible Study” 3 Saturdays a month at 9:00 A.M. in the fellowship hall at the church building. The purpose of these gatherings is to provide encouragement, wisdom and support for young professionals, college students and graduates who are entering the workforce.
