The Warrenton Church of Christ is committed to spreading the love of God and the Good News of Jesus Christ by serving others, both locally and around the world.  We prayerfully consider our responsibilities to carry out the Great Commission of Matthew 28:18-20, and other mission opportunities with a deep desire to be good stewards. Version 2

Since 1997, the Koonce family has served, on behalf of the Warrenton Church of Christ, in Togo, West Africa until 2008 and beginning in 2009 in Rwanda, East Africa.  Marty and Louise have four sons, two of which are still at home in Rwanda.  Marty works to use sport, particularly the sport of Taekwondo, to make disciples in Rwanda.  He serves alongside a team of American missionaries and Rwandans in the organization, Africa Transformation Network.  ATN focuses on service to Rwandans that leads to discipleship as reflected in their Vision of:  Kingdom Communities of Obedient Disciples Transforming and Redeeming Rwanda.  Louise teaches art at their sons’ high school along with photography and media design.  They hope to continue in Rwanda until June of 2019 when they propose to return stateside for a one year sabbatical before choosing their next mission.

Mission Trips:

As a congregation we support missions around the world, but we also go on short term mission trips annually. The destinations are varied, from as close as rural Appalachia and inner-city Pensacola to as far away as Honduras or Mexico. The mission fields are everywhere, and there is no shortage of need. If you feel mission work is your calling, contact Tom Ryon.
